Contrary to the text in the program booklet (and earlier coverage), the role that Mieneke Bakker was initially meant to play, will be played by Judith Pol.
On Sunday 1 September, part of the new junction of the Buitenring Parkstad Limburg (Parkstad Limburg outer ring road) on the A76 near Nuth will be the backdrop to a special event. Toneelgroep Maastricht will open the new Buitenring in style with a performance that will also be the closing act of the Cultura Nova festival. The evening will focus on the history of this motorway and the vehicles that use it. Wiel Beijer wrote the script, which is performed by actress Judith Pol and given a musical touch by the Limburg-based soprano Fenna Ograjensek. This time-travelling duo will guide you through the world of pervious concrete, Roman giants, carnival parades, and lots of vehicles. Watch as a lively procession passes by – nothing says Limburg more than parades and processions!
The Buitenring is a ring road around the Parkstad Limburg urban agglomeration, which brings together the Municipalities of Brunssum, Heerlen, Kerkrade, Landgraaf, and Beekdaelen. The provincial roads N298, N299, and N300 were also improved as the Buitenring was being constructed. The project has created a dense road network that offers high-quality connections between regional destinations and a good connection to the main roads in the Parkstad, area such as the Binnenring Parkstad (Parkstad inner ring road). This will improve quality of life and traffic safety.
