HUBO (8+)

El Patio Teatro (ES)

A tribute to Spain’s rural villages and the people who live there

Once upon a time, there was a village…

Once upon a time, there was a woman…

Once upon a time, there was a story…

HUBO is a moving and expressive performance about love, loss, loneliness, and memories. In this tribute to Spain’s rural villages and the people who live there, El Patio searches for stories and memories that are hidden underwater and have almost been forgotten. It takes the audience to places where there used to be forests: grass, crops, and a school. With humour and love, HUBO tells the story of a woman who does not want to leave her home, which has turned into an island of stone.

El Patio

‘El Patio’ is Spanish for ‘courtyard’, whether of a school, a prison, your home, or the theatre. It is a place to meet, a place for reflection, listening, searching, and playing. El Patio wants to share stories from the everyday, using its own, unique language to bring unassuming objects to life. El Patio’s first performance, A Mano, has received many international awards, such as the prize for best performance (Kiss Festival) and best small performance (FETEN).
