Soul, African, psych, and electronic music

DANDANA is a collective of musicians from the Netherlands, Senegal, and Gambia. Inspired by West African psych pioneers such as Guelewar and Touré Kunda, as well as synth-driven bands such as Air and Tame Impala, DANDANA takes you on a journey through a new universe in a mix of funk, soul, African, psych, and electronic music. Last year saw the release of their latest album, Free the System, as a response to the growing gap between old and young generations, which has come under increasing pressure due to COVID-19 and Black Lives Matter. “DANDANA is breaking free from the system,” says Eric Hoetjes of 3voor12.
